privacy policy

Privacy Policy.

Effective May 9, 2026. under1kg ("we," "us," "the site") is a static editorial site at under1kg.com. This page explains what we collect, what we don't, and what changes if we ever turn on advertising or affiliate links.

Short version

We don't run analytics. We don't set cookies from this site. We don't sell or rent any visitor data. We do receive standard server-log information through our hosting provider and CDN (Cloudflare), and we receive emails you choose to send us. That's the entire data picture today.

If we add advertising (Google AdSense) or affiliate links in the future, those third parties will set their own cookies and may collect data — and this policy will be updated to describe what they do, with an updated effective date.

What we collect today

We do not currently collect: names, account registrations, payment information, location data beyond what an IP address reveals, or any data via tracking cookies or analytics pixels. The site has no comments, no forms beyond the contact email link, and no user accounts.

Cookies and similar technologies

under1kg.com itself does not set any first-party cookies for tracking, analytics, advertising, or personalization at the time of writing.

Cloudflare, our CDN and security provider, may set technical cookies (such as __cf_bm for bot management) that are essential to delivering the site safely. These do not identify you individually beyond what's needed for that purpose. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details.

If we add advertising (Google AdSense)

We may in the future enable Google AdSense or another advertising network to display ads on this site. If and when that happens:

This policy will be updated with an explicit notice and a new effective date when advertising is actually enabled. Until then, no advertising-related data collection is happening on this site.

If we add affiliate links

We may in the future include affiliate links (e.g., to retailers, manufacturers, or affiliate networks like Impact). When you click an affiliate link, the destination site may set tracking cookies and may share information about your click with us (typically aggregate counts, not your identity).

Per the editorial commitment on our contact page, all affiliate links will be disclosed in plain language in the article they appear in. Editorial decisions remain independent of affiliate relationships.

How we use the information we have

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share visitor data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We may share information when:

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding the information we hold about you.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].

Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience interested in laptops. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). If you believe we have inadvertently received such information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Data security and retention

We rely on industry-standard practices via our hosting and CDN providers (Cloudflare, our LXC host). No system is perfectly secure, but we don't store personally identifiable visitor data beyond standard server logs and inbound email.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our data practices change — most likely when we enable advertising or affiliate features. We will update the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes, note the change in plain language. We do not silently rewrite this policy; revision history is maintained in the site's source repository.
