What this site is

under1kg is a small editorial site that publishes notes on laptops weighing under one kilogram. Articles are research notes, hands-on observations, and comparisons written by the site's author based on public information and personal use where applicable. Articles are dated and treated as immutable after publication; corrections are appended at the bottom of an article rather than silent edits.

Information, not advice

Content on this site is provided for informational purposes only. It is not:

• Professional purchasing, investment, financial, legal, tax, or technical advice.
• A complete or definitive specification reference. Specs change, configurations vary, retailers stock different SKUs, and prices drift.
• A warranty of fitness for any particular purpose. The right laptop for you depends on your specific needs, and we can't evaluate those.

Verify any spec, price, or configuration with the manufacturer or retailer before you buy. We try to be accurate, but we will get things wrong sometimes — please send corrections to [email protected].

Trademarks and product names

Product names, brand names, and logos referenced in articles belong to their respective owners. We use these names solely to identify the products being discussed (nominative use). No endorsement, partnership, or affiliation with any manufacturer is implied unless explicitly stated in a given article.

Product images used in articles are credited to their source (typically the manufacturer's product page) and used in an editorial context.

Editorial independence and disclosures

Per the commitment on our contact page:

• Editorial decisions, ratings, and verdicts are made by the site's author independent of any affiliate or sponsorship relationship.
• Sponsorship does not buy a positive review.
• Affiliate links and sponsored relationships, if and when they exist, are disclosed in plain language within the article they appear in — not buried in a site-wide footer.

Acceptable use

You may read articles, save them for personal reference, share links to them, and quote short excerpts with attribution. You may not:

• Republish full articles or substantial portions of them on other sites without prior written permission.
• Use the content to train commercial machine-learning models without prior written permission.
• Scrape the site at a rate that materially burdens our hosting (please be reasonable).
• Attempt to compromise the site's security, abuse the contact email, or circumvent technical protections.

Third-party links

Articles link to manufacturer pages, retailer listings, independent reviews, and other third-party resources. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices. External links open in your browser as normal — review the destination site's terms and privacy policy when relevant.

No warranty

The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy of information to the fullest extent allowed by applicable law.

We don't guarantee that the site will be available without interruption, free from errors, or free from security vulnerabilities. We take reasonable steps but cannot promise perfection.

If you bought a laptop based on something we wrote and the laptop turned out to be the wrong choice for you, that's a reason to write us a correction or send hands-on notes — not a basis for a damages claim.
